What's in the box
Firefly + Helmet Set :
Helmet Display Set :
Stand-Alone :
NOTE: If you received a set (either helmet or helmet with Firefly units), rest assured that this would come pre-installed.
Installation
If you received a standalone set to replace your already existing display unit, please follow the steps below:
1. Please start by unscrewing the thumbscrew at the post to access the tubing.
2. Once this is done, you can now slide the helmet's tubing from the main post. Please be careful pulling this out as the wires are connected.
3. Simply unplug the wires and you will now be able to exchange the helmets.
**DISCLAIMER: While installing the new helmet, we do recommend using a stick-like object to provide the wires in to look neater and flush BUT please do be careful with both the item you use and how much force you're applying.
4. Carefully orientate the new helmet above the main post/tubing of the display. Please do note that the helmet can be installed either facing the front or rear.
5. You'll then be able to slide it in with little effort. Then carefully thread the wire from the helmet through the post before finally plugging it into the female port/plug.
6. Insert the thumbscrew provided with your package to secure both posts. Please be careful NOT to overtighten it to avoid the threading being stripped.
7. Once the display is put together, please insert the main cable into the back of the display before turning on your devices. (If you have a set, you would need to turn on the helmet and Firefly separately.)
8. We also provide display plates with each set/helmet we ship out. At the bottom of each display, there is a hole for you to poke through to remove/exchange the plate with another.
Pairing Remote to Helmet:
This would follow the same steps listed here: How to Pair Your Helmet and Remote
Pairing device to App
If you received the display as a set, the display should come paired out of the box. If you are replacing the display helmet or have issues with the sync of the devices, then please follow the steps here: Pairing your Firefly lights to the Lumos App
NOTE: Please make sure you're holding the power button long enough to enter pairing mode. If it's too short of a press, the helmet will just turn on to normal mode. If this happens, you will need to turn it off again before attempting the pairing process once more.
Sync Grid
If you only have a helmet for the POP display, please skip this part.
Once you have all 3 devices paired (if you received a set):
- Simply click on the "Sync" tab on your Ride Lumos App.
- When you have your devices paired and turned on, you'll be able to see them on the "Unassigned Devices" list above:
- Simply click on the helmet and drag it to the middle. After that, do the same for the Firefly units but to the Left and Right grids.
- Now you have all 3 devices set to their respective grids.
Ride Sync
- If you have Firefly units along with your helmet's display, you would need to first sync your flash pattern across all 3 devices (2x Firefly units, 1x helmet). We call this Ride Sync.
- If you have a specific pattern you'd like for the other devices to follow, simply double-tap the power button (from the ON state) and the other 2 devices will follow suit. Now you'll have all devices synced in terms of tempo, flash pattern, and brightness.
- 3. If you feel none of the patterns are up to par, simply set up the flash pattern on the Ride Lumos App before double-tapping that same device you edited to sync across. (Keep devices turned ON during this process).
For example:
Scenario #1
- If you have a flash pattern on one of the Firefly units that looks good, simply double-press that particular Firefly unit.
Scenario #2
- If you don't like any of the flash patterns, edit the flash pattern, brightness, and other settings for one device. (We would recommend going with the helmet first) Then you would be able to double-press that device or helmet's power button to sync that specific setting across the other 2 devices.
