General
To enhance the user experience, the Lumos App is currently undergoing a major upgrade. To successfully pair your Lumos device with a Tarran bike, you will need to use the app's Beta test version.
Please follow the steps below to complete the setup:
Supported Helmets
- Nyxel, Ultra, Ultra E-bike
Step 1: Get the Lumos Beta App
Android Users:
- Download the Beta APK via this link: https://www.pgyer.com/lumos-android-a
iOS Users:
- Send your Apple ID email address to our team at service@tarranbikes.com to sign up for the Beta program.
(Note: You must use the email associated with your Apple ID; otherwise, the Beta app will not appear in your TestFlight.)
- Wait for our team to add your email to the Beta Test user list. You will receive an official invitation email upon successful registration.
- Open the invitation email and tap the link provided in the message.
- Set Up TestFlight
You will be redirected to TestFlight.
- If you do not have TestFlight installed on your iPhone, please download the TestFlight app first.
- If TestFlight is already installed, the link will launch the app automatically.
- The app would look like this on the AppStore:
- Install the Lumos Beta App
Locate Lumos App (displayed as Ride Lumos Dev) within TestFlight, then complete the download and installation.
(Note: Once installed, the app name on your iPhone's home screen will still display as Lumos. Rest assured, the beta update has been successfully applied.)
Step 2: Pair the Helmet with the App
- Grant App Permissions: Ensure Bluetooth and any other required system permissions (such as location services, depending on your phone) are fully enabled for the Lumos App.
- Put Helmet into Pairing Mode: With the helmet powered off, press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds until the indicator light flashes, indicating pairing mode.

Open the Pairing Interface: Launch the Lumos App and navigate to the device pairing screen.
- Complete the Pairing: Select your helmet from the list and tap Pair. Once the pairing is complete, the button will change to Paired. Tap Continue to proceed
Step 3: Update to the Latest Firmware
- After pairing, tap the helmet icon on the home screen. You will see a notification that a new firmware update is available
- Tap "Update Firmware" and follow the prompts to complete the upgrade process.
- Once the upgrade is finished, please verify the firmware version is V2.1 (x)
Step 4: Pair the Helmet with the Tarran Bike
- Put the helmet into Pairing Mode: With the helmet powered off, press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds until the indicator light flashes, indicating pairing mode.
- Power on and Navigate: Power on your Tarran bike, then on the smart touchscreen, navigate to: Accessories > Add-on devices > Extra devices.
- Complete the Pairing: Wait for the bike to discover your helmet. Select your helmet on the screen and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the pairing.
