If you have tried the steps from the previous article "How do I update my helmet's firmware" and still run into trouble updating your firmware multiple times, please give the steps below a try.
This method will directly put your Lumos device in firmware update mode for a higher chance of success:
- Have the Lumos app open on your smartphone.
-
Hold the power button on the helmet and plug in the charging cable at the same time.
-
Now release the power button. If done correctly, your helmet is now in "Manual Update Mode" and the helmet's front lights are blinking orange.
-
The firmware update process should start automatically. The current firmware version should show V0.0.
We have attached some examples of what the process should look like on different helmets below:
We sincerely apologize for the overall experience if you have had to manually update your helmet as this is simply not what we intended. This is mainly because there are a wide variety of Android devices and we do not have the resources to test our firmware updates on every model and version at the moment.
That said, please rest assured that we are constantly coming up with workarounds for our customers to ensure a more efficient and streamlined experience.
If however, the fix above did not solve your issue despite being attempted more than once, please email us at support@lumoshelmet.co with the subject line "Unable to update helmet firmware - [phone model], [OS version], [Lumos App version]"
Please also include:
-
A screenshot of the error, if possible
-
A quick description of what you've tried and what is not working.
