You can use the Ultra bug net in a non-MIPS or MIPS Ultra helmet and with or without a visor on your Ultra. The instructions do slightly differ for the MIPS and non-MIPS version.
Non-MIPS Ultra helmet
Follow these steps to install the bug net on your non-MIPS Ultra helmet:
- Put your helmet upside down and gently remove the three middle padding pieces from your helmet.
- Store the padding pieces in a safe and dry place as you will need it again when you decide to deinstall the bug net.
- Place the bug net on the velcro in your helmet with the middle part on the same location the original padding was placed. The side with size indicator should be facing up, so that side will touch your head when wearing the helmet.
- Pull the left and right front pieces of the bug net under the retention system.
- Gently pull back the retention system so that you can attach the bugnet to the velcro and it will cover the individual vents. Make sure all nets cover the vents properly.
- When the bug net is in the correct position, press it in the middle and on the sides so that it firmly sticks to the velcro and doesn't fall off.

Note: for the bug net to fit properly it should match with the size of your helmet. So if you have a M-L size Ultra, your bug net should also be in M-L size. The size can be found on the corner of the middle piece of the bug net.
