Each connected device has its own battery indicator. The connection indicator is separate.
Understand the battery icon
The app uses a five-level battery icon, rather than an exact percentage.
More fill indicates a higher battery level.
Less fill indicates a lower battery level.
The lowest level means it is time to charge your device.
Each level covers a range of battery charge, so the icon may stay the same while the battery is gradually charging or being used.
The highest level does not necessarily mean charging is complete. Use your device’s charging indicator and model-specific instructions to confirm a full charge.
Higher charge → Lower charge
The icon shows an approximate battery level, not an exact percentage or remaining runtime.
View your remote’s battery
The USB-C Lumos Remote can display its own battery icon after it has been updated to BLE, paired with the app, and connected. Look for its card under My devices on Dashboard.
If the remote is asleep, press either L or R once to wake it. Leave the turn signal active until the remote reconnects to the app. Once connected, you can cancel the turn and check the battery icon.
A remote card appearing during the upgrade process does not necessarily mean the remote is already paired or that its battery reading is available. Complete the update and pairing steps first.
Remote Lite and the older square remote with charging contacts do not pair directly with the app, so they do not appear as connected remote device cards in the same way.
You can also check battery information without opening the app. Depending on the model, the device’s indicator may provide information when you turn it on, turn it off, or charge it.
The meaning of the indicator varies by device:
Device
Battery indication
Ultra, Ultra E-bike, Firefly, and Firefly Mini
A small red indicator light appears when you turn the device on or off if the battery is low.
Nyxel
See the Nyxel battery-indicator guide for the model’s indicator meanings.
Snapix
Detailed battery-indicator guidance is coming soon.
For Ultra, Ultra E-bike, Firefly, and Firefly Mini, the red light is a low-battery warning, not a detailed battery gauge. If it appears, charge your device. If it does not appear, that alone does not confirm a full charge.
We hope to add more detailed on-device battery indications for these models in future updates.
Check charging status
Use the charging indicator and instructions for your specific model to check charging progress and confirm when charging is complete.
Do not assume a red light means the same thing on every device or in every situation. A low-battery warning during power-on or power-off and an indicator shown while charging should be read according to the device’s instructions.
What if the app doesn’t show a battery reading?
A missing reading does not mean the battery is empty. The app needs a connection to receive current battery information.
For a helmet or light:
Make sure it is powered on and near your phone.
Check that Bluetooth is enabled and the app has permission to use it.
Wait for the device to connect and its battery reading to appear.
If it will not turn on, charge it according to its model’s instructions, then try again.
For an updated USB-C remote, use the wake-and-reconnect steps above.
You can check the device’s own indicator while troubleshooting, but it may only provide a low-battery warning rather than a detailed battery level.
If a device connects but still does not show a battery reading, contact Lumos Support. Include the device model, your app version, and a screenshot of its Dashboard card.
Why hasn’t the app icon changed after charging?
The battery may still be within the same range shown by the icon.
Check again with the device connected to the app so it can receive a fresh reading. Use the device’s charging indicator to check charging progress—an unchanged app icon alone does not mean charging has failed.
