A good fit starts with the right size. Follow this guide to measure your child’s head, adjust their Snapix, and check the fit before each ride.
1. Choose the right size
Use a soft measuring tape to measure around your child’s head, just above their eyebrows and ears. Keep the tape level from front to back.
If you don’t have a measuring tape, use a piece of string, then measure it against a ruler.
| Snapix size | Head circumference | Versions |
XXS | 46–50 cm | Standard |
XS | 49–53 cm | Standard and Mips |
S | 53–57 cm | Standard and Mips |
Choose a helmet that fits well. If your child’s measurement falls within both size ranges, consider the larger size to allow room for growth—as long as it fits snugly and securely now.
Check the age and intended-use guidance in the supplied User Manual.
2. Position the helmet
Loosen the rear adjustment dial and place the helmet on your child’s head.
The helmet should sit level and low on the forehead, approximately two finger-widths above the eyebrows. It should not tilt backward and leave the forehead exposed, or tilt forward and block your child’s view.
3. Adjust the fit dial
Adjust the dial at the back until the helmet feels snug and comfortable.
Ask your child how it feels. It should not squeeze or create painful pressure points. If the helmet remains loose or uncomfortable after adjustment, check the size and position again.
4. Adjust the straps and fasten the buckle
Make sure the straps lie flat without twists. The side straps should form a V around each ear, meeting just below it.
Fasten the magnetic buckle and gently pull on both sides to check that it is securely locked.
Adjust the chin strap so it sits snugly beneath the chin, with room for no more than one or two fingers between the strap and the chin. The buckle should not press uncomfortably against the jaw.
Use the included rubber band to secure any excess strap.
5. Check before every ride
An adult should check that:
- The helmet sits level and covers the forehead.
- Your child can see clearly ahead and to both sides.
- The fit feels snug without painful pressure.
- The straps are flat and the buckle is securely fastened.
- The helmet does not slide loosely from side to side or roll excessively forward or backward.
- The helmet cannot be removed while the buckle is fastened and the straps are correctly adjusted.
If the helmet moves out of position, readjust it and check again. Do not ride until you can achieve a secure, comfortable fit.
Check the fit regularly as your child grows, and again whenever their hairstyle changes.
When your child needs a larger size
If Snapix has become too tight or can no longer be adjusted comfortably, measure your child’s head again and check the next size.
