Use the Dashboard to manage the devices paired with your Lumos app. You can check their connection status, give them recognizable names, identify individual lights, and update their positions on your bike.
Keep the device powered on and connected to your phone before changing its settings.
1. Check your devices on the Dashboard
Each paired device appears as a card on the Dashboard.
Connection state
What it means
Connected
The app can communicate with the device. You can view its battery information and open its available settings.
Reconnecting
The app is trying to reconnect to a device you have already paired. Wait for the connection to complete before making changes.
Offline
The device is still paired, but it is not currently connected to your phone. You cannot change its device settings until it reconnects, but you can still unpair it from the app.
An offline device has not necessarily lost its pairing. It may be switched off, out of range, or unable to connect.
Turn it on normally, bring it near your phone, and check that Bluetooth is enabled. You do not need to put it into pairing mode again simply because it was switched off.
Tap a connected device’s card to open its details and available settings. The details page also shows information such as its model and firmware version.
Check a device’s connection status before opening its settings.
2. Identify a bike light with Find me
If you have several similar-looking lights, Find me helps you match a device card to the physical light.
Make sure the light is on and connected.
On the Dashboard, tap … on that light’s card.
Tap Find me.
Look for the light showing the identification flash.
Once you know which light it is, you can rename it or change its assigned position.
Find me works with a connected bike light nearby. It cannot identify a light that is switched off or disconnected.
Use Find me to identify the light you want to adjust.
3. Rename a device
A recognizable name makes it easier to manage several devices.
On the Dashboard, find the connected device you want to rename.
Tap …, then Rename.
Enter a name, such as “My Helmet” or “Rear Left Light.”
Confirm the change and check that the new name appears on its card.
Renaming changes the label shown in the app. It does not change the device’s model or behavior.
For bike lights, a name is not a position setting. Naming a light “Rear Left” does not assign it to that position. Use Set position as described below.
4. Change a bike light’s position
Update a light’s position in the app whenever you move it to a different place on your bike.
Turn on the light and wait for it to connect.
If you are unsure which card belongs to it, use Find me first.
Tap … on the light’s card, then Set position.
Tap the position that matches where the light is mounted.
Tap Confirm.
Check the position shown on the light’s Dashboard card.
Choose the correct position
Read left and right from your perspective while riding—not while standing in front of the bike.
For example:
A light on the left side of your handlebar belongs in Front Left.
A light mounted centrally at the back belongs in Rear.
A light on the right side at the back belongs in Rear Right.
The Left Turn Signal Only and Right Turn Signal Only positions are intended for lights used specifically as turn indicators. Choose these only if that is how you want to use the light.
If you are unsure, tap the ? beside the position instructions for guidance.
Assigning a position does not add turn-signal support to an unsupported remote or device. For remote setup and compatibility, see Pair and set up your Lumos Remote.
Update the assigned position when you move a light on your bike.
After changing positions, test your turn signals while stationary, if your setup supports them. Check the actual lights to make sure the correct side responds.
5. Remove a device from the app
Use Unpair device when you no longer want to manage that device as part of this app’s setup.
You do not need to unpair a device just to turn it off or leave it unused for a while.
Before you unpair
Unpairing:
Removes the device’s pairing record and card from this app.
Removes it from this app’s device group.
Requires you to pair it again before managing it in the app.
Unpairing is not a factory reset. For helmets and lights, it does not erase the lighting settings stored on the device or remove an existing direct pairing between a helmet and its remote.
This does not mean the device will continue to participate in the app’s synchronized setup after it has been removed.
Unpair the device
Find the device on the Dashboard and check its name carefully.
If a bike light is connected, you can use Find me to confirm which light it is.
Tap … on its card.
Select Unpair device and follow any confirmation prompt.
Check that the card has been removed from the Dashboard.
You can unpair a device even when it is offline, lost, or no longer working. You do not need to reconnect it first.
