If your lights are not behaving as expected, first check whether the issue is with devices working together or settings that have not yet been applied to the devices.
A saved draft, an on-screen preview, and a setting already applied to your lights are different things.
Check your setup first
Pair the helmets and lights you want to use together with the Lumos app on the same phone.
Install the latest firmware available for each device.
Make sure the devices use the same connection system. 2.4G and BLE devices cannot synchronize with one another.
Keep the devices nearby and turn them on when testing scene changes or flashing.
When editing settings in the app, make sure the devices receiving those changes are connected.
Press once to move to the next scene. Press twice on a device in the desired scene to bring your setup back into sync.
My devices switch scenes together, but the lights look different
That can be normal.
A scene stores settings for each device. It can include a steady front light, flashing rear lights, and other individual choices.
Switching scenes together does not force every light to use the same pattern, brightness, or color.
If you want matching patterns, check the settings for the relevant lights within that scene. For supported changes, you can use Apply to copy them to other devices.
Some devices do not turn on or off with the others
Each device has separate settings for following another device’s power-on and power-off actions.
Turn on the devices and connect them to the app.
On Dashboard, open the card for a device that is not following the others.
Enable All power on if you want it to turn on with your setup.
Enable All power off if you want it to turn off with your setup.
Repeat for the other devices you want to follow.
Then test using a helmet or light’s normal physical power-button action.
These app switches control how a device responds; they do not immediately turn the lights on or off. A single press while a device is on changes scenes—it is not the power-off action.
Enable the power-follow settings on each device you want to turn on or off with your setup.
I changed a setting, but the device still looks the same
Check what you edited and whether the change has reached the hardware.
What you changed
What needs to happen
A draft scene
Move it into the three active scene positions through Arrange Scenes, then tap Done.
A flash pattern, color, or animation in an active scene
Tap Push to device to apply it to the selected light.
A custom flash pattern in the pattern editor
Done saves the pattern in the app. Apply it to an active scene with Push to device.
Brightness or Boost in an active scene
Changes are sent immediately to the connected device. Check its connection and the scene it is currently using.
An on-screen preview does not mean a change has been applied.
Check that the device is using the scene you edited
Your devices store three active scenes. If you edited a different scene, switch to it using the physical power button on a helmet or light.
If you changed the active scene order in Arrange Scenes, check the final three scenes and their order, then tap Done.
Check Boost if the brightness is not what you expected
On supported devices, turn Boost off before choosing a regular brightness level.
Turning Boost off returns to the maximum regular brightness—not the brightness level you used before enabling Boost. Move the slider again if you want a lower level.
Saving or previewing a setting is not always the same as applying it to your devices.
I tapped Apply, but some devices did not change
Check the following:
Was it a draft? Apply within a draft updates the draft’s settings in the app. It does not activate that scene on your devices.
Were the target devices connected? An offline device may not have received the change. Reconnect it, check its settings, and apply the intended change if needed.
Does the target support that setting? Available controls vary by model.
Was it a color or special animation? These are not copied through Apply, even between devices of the same model.
Are the bike-light positions correct? Front and rear settings are applied according to the relevant device and light position.
Did you choose to keep the change on one device only? Declining Apply keeps the source device’s changes without copying them to the rest.
Apply copies supported changes within the scene you are editing. It does not clone every setting or update all your scenes.
If any paired device is not running the latest firmware available for it, Customize remains unavailable.
Complete the available updates for all paired devices, then return to Customize. Compatible devices staying on 2.4G do not need to move to BLE just to use this feature.
My lights changed after riding near another Lumos user
This may be Team Sync, which is separate from synchronization within your own setup.
After receiving another rider’s lighting pattern, press your device’s power button once to advance to the next scene in your own saved sequence, using your own settings.
Turning Team Sync off blocks future synchronization requests from other riders. It does not immediately restore the previous lighting.
You do not need Team Sync enabled to synchronize your own paired devices.
