You can adjust how your Lumos lights flash and how bright they are within each scene. Choose an existing flash pattern, create your own rhythm, or use Boost to set a supported device to maximum brightness.
A scene contains the settings for your whole setup. A flash pattern controls how an individual light flashes within that scene.
Available controls depend on your device and the light you are editing.
Open a device’s lighting settings
Turn on your device and connect it to the Lumos app.
Open Customize.
Select the scene you want to edit.
Tap the helmet or light you want to configure.
For helmets with separate front and rear controls, open the lighting section you want to change. You can use different settings for the front and rear lights.
If you are editing an active scene, tap Push to device to apply the selected pattern.
Depending on your device, choices may include Always On, High Visibility, and Battery Saver.
These are lighting-pattern choices—not the three active scene slots. For example, you can use an Always On pattern for a helmet’s front light within a scene that uses flashing rear lights.
The on-screen preview shows the selected effect. It does not mean the change has already reached your device.
Build a repeating flash pattern by editing the on-and-off blocks, then save and apply it.
Active Scene
Adjust brightness
In the device’s settings for the selected scene:
Turn Boost off if it is enabled.
Move the brightness slider to your preferred level.
For an active scene, brightness changes are sent to the connected device immediately. For a draft scene, they stay in the app until you make that scene active.
Brightness is part of the scene’s settings. Changing it here does not change the brightness you have chosen for other scenes.
Use Boost
On supported devices, Boost sets the brightness to 100% for the scene you are editing.
Turn Boost on to use maximum brightness.
Turn Boost off to return to the maximum regular brightness, which is lower than Boost brightness—equivalent to setting the brightness slider to maximum.
Boost is a saved setting for that scene, not a timed burst. It stays enabled for the scene until you turn it off, including when you leave the page or reopen the app.
Moving the brightness slider to 100% does not automatically turn Boost on.
As with the brightness slider, Boost changes affect a connected device immediately when editing an active scene. In a draft, the setting is saved for later.
Change colors or special animations
Some devices offer a Color Library, special animations, or both.
When these options are available, select the color or effect you want and check the preview. In an active scene, use Push to device to apply the change.
Not every device supports the same colors or animations. A control available on one model may not appear on another.
Colors and special animations are individual device settings. They are not copied to other devices through Apply, even between devices of the same model.
When do my changes reach the devices?
What you are editing
What happens
Brightness or Boost in an active scene
Changes are sent to the connected device immediately.
A flash pattern, color, or animation in an active scene
Select or edit the effect, then tap Push to device.
Any setting in a draft scene
Changes stay in the app until the draft becomes an active scene.
A draft does not have a Push to device button. To use it on your lights, move it into one of the three active scene positions through Arrange Scenes, then tap Done.
Saved custom flash patterns can be selected again for other scenes and supported lights in the same app.
Saving a pattern does not automatically apply it to every device.
To share supported changes within a scene, return from the device’s settings and choose Apply when prompted. For the copying rules and full procedure, see Customize a scene and apply changes to other devices.
Why doesn’t my light match the preview?
Check that:
The device is connected.
You applied the selected effect with Push to device, rather than only saving or previewing it.
You are editing an active scene, not a draft.
The device is using the scene you edited.
To switch to another active scene, press the physical power button once on a helmet or light. The app displays the current scene; it does not switch scenes.
